Team spotlight:
Dr. Rai’s story

I was raised in a spiritually centered family in India, where it was customary to visit gurus, consult astrologers, and engage with alternative approaches to well-being. At the same time, I grew up under the influence of Western education, with a grandfather who was a professor of physics and a father who was an engineer. This dual perspective allowed me to see the value of both Eastern and Western approaches to health.

I witnessed family members managing mental health conditions with a blend of psychiatric treatment and holistic practices, placing a strong emphasis on lifestyle adjustments, community involvement, and family support. This experience ignited my interest in medicine and to further pursue psychiatry in the United states.

This is the basis of my approach: treat people for acute symptoms with the best science we have to offer, including medications when needed, but go further and actually help people heal. This is integrative medicine. We pull in Eastern modalities, address the whole person, mind body and soul, and work to harmonize balance. We reach a place of stability from the acute mental health symptoms, and then go deeper, to find the root cause of chronic health ailments.

Sacred Balance Integrative Health is the culmination of my vision to bring the best of Eastern and Western approaches together, so you can truly heal. I look forward to helping you discover your healthiest, happiest and most fulfilled self.

— Dr. Abhishek Rai

“I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Rai. My experience has been exceptional on every level. He is kind, caring, easy to talk to, non-judgmental, empathetic, very knowledgeable, and actively listens. He looks at the whole picture and takes all things into account before recommending strategies. I am no longer on any medications and doing so well taking only a few supplements. Most days I feel like a million bucks! He has helped me tremendously!”
